The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City (HSGKC) is the oldest humane society in the greater Kansas City area — saving pets since 1912. The no kill shelter houses about 140 dogs and cats at all times. The onsite preventative vet clinic provides basic healthcare for the pets of low and fixed income pet owners.
